Professional career
Ferdinand Facklam graduated his draftsman apprenticeship in Basel. Afterwards he gained experience in various architecture offices, for example Herzog de Meuron.
To deepen his knowledge, he studied during two years at the ETH Zürich at the chair of Prof. Arthur Rüegg and Prof. Hans Kollhoff.
From 1998 to 2000 he went to Spain and worked as an architect in the office Burgos Garrido Arquitectos in Madrid.
Back in Switzerland he studied webdesign and worked during this time in the Internetagency R.Ø.S.A.. After this study he had a based background in internet and its interactions.
From 2004 he worked as Media Integrator by NOSE and perfomed different tasks:
Interaction Design, Interior Design und Graphic Design.
From the end of 2006 to 2008 he graduated his Master in Advanced Studies in CAAD at the ETH Zürich at the chair of Prof. Ludger Hovestadt.
He studied interesting methods in the field of CAD Scripting, Parametric Design and CNC fabrication.
2010 he selected special workshops by ecologicstudio (SimplyRhino), LaN/ Live Architecture Network, Giulio Piacentino (McNeel) and @ [uto].
Since 2012 he has been Authorized Rhino Trainer.
